Since 1991 there had been a political and administrative
change emanated in India. It reflected in tamilnadu as well. It was a first
time J.Jeyalalitha, an erstwhile actress was contenting in elections as chief of unified
AIADMK.
It was also an election where I was casting my vote for the
first time as a voter crossing my teens. And like many youngsters and even
middle aged educated
class, we were seeing Jeyalaitha as a good alternative
happened to Tamilnadu political scene, similar to what many people are thinking
about Vijayakanth now in
2016!
At that time itself I had been a vivid reader of many column
writers of political significance and was keen in observing the issues and
relevant reactions from political leaders for that. I had earnest belief that 1991
elections may bring out a change of events for tamilnadu as for as governing
and polity is considered.
Then came the infamous marriage and Many of the believers
were dejected and we were forced to settle between 'frying pan to fire and
again frying pan' scenario in tamilnadu since then.
Come to 2015/2016, the floods that 'happened' in chennai had
brought an angry and wrath in the thoughts of common man and there had been an
open talk among them, that there should be' neither DMK, nor AIADMK'
this time. This resulted in 'Makkal Nala Koottani' , the constituents of which
are the 'added bogies' of DMK or AIADMK front in erstwhile elections. Sensing
the sentiment of common feeling in Tamilnadu; and also the euphorbia that had arisen
after the invitation to Sahayam, a serving IAS in Tamilnadu for
floating a political front and contest for elections 2016, this MNK front is
formed to try their luck.
At the central level too, the last two regimes of the
administration had been in news for all wrong reasons and so many scams, which
resulted routing of congress in 2016 and brought BJP to power at center with
convincing majority since Modi had put forward the growth and clean governance
as an agenda in the election 2014.
Coming to Tamilnadu 2016 elections, BJP is
not with any major party except the actor sarathkumar's party till date. They
are continuously wooing Vijayakanth, an actor
turned politician to come to BJP front.
As an individual who want to select a party which can assure
good governance to tamilnadu, do we have a choice in this election 2016?
Considering Vijaykanth- he started well as an alternative
when he floated his party. He may be a man of good intentions. But he is
looking like having some health issues which may take its toll, in his ability to
think sharp and be active. Does he have a good team to show to people?
Considering DMK, It is settled with congress, their
accomplice for last 10 years and tries its best to bring Vijayakanth too in it.
It would be a best thing to ensure DMK do not have any role in governance anymore in Tamilnadu !
Considering AIADMK, it is alone and seems to be interested
in keeping all other parties alone, and believes that strategy might work in
their favour to cross elections unscathed. It is of no difference from DMK now and
need to go in exile now.
Considering MNK, Are they determined to give good
governance? No way to be assured since the constituents is based on caste and groups
and may only be the party of convenience now!
Considering BJP, it can be a stronger party and a force to reckon
with in Tamilnadu, only when, it is able to introduce an able and clean
individual as a chief minister material to Tamilnadu electorate and goes all alone
with good vigor. But they are still wooing Vijaykanth to be aligned with them,
at the cost of chief minister-ship to him. If they are aligning with MDMK, they should have a reserve plan to prepare a local leadership, who should be able to takeover chief ministership, since it would be prudent soon to realise that Vijaykanth would be a colossus failure as a CM.
If they are thinking to align with AIADMK, it would be a platter for DMK to come back to power !
Time for BJP central leadership to think aloud, very soon!
